What's My Etsy Shop URL?

Whether you're a seasoned Etsy seller or just starting your journey, knowing your Etsy shop URL is essential for growing your brand and reaching potential customers.

In this blog, we'll walk you through the importance of your Etsy shop URL and the different ways to find it.

Why Do You Need Your Etsy Shop URL?

Your Etsy shop URL is more than just a web address — it serves as your shop's digital identity, helping customers find you amidst the sea of online businesses.

When you share your Etsy shop URL on social media, business cards, thank you cards, or in your email signature, you're driving traffic to your shop and potentially gaining new customers.

How Do You Find Your Etsy Shop URL?

If you're wondering “how do I find out my Etsy shop address?”, it's quite simple. To find your Etsy shop URL, simply:

  1. Go to your shop’s homepage

  2. Click on the browser address bar

  3. Copy the link, which should be displayed in this format: https://www.etsy.com/shop/(your shop name) without the brackets

  4. Delete any characters that come after the shop name (such as ?ref=seller-platform-mcnav if you are logged in as a seller)

So, for example, my shop page’s URL would be https://www.etsy.com/shop/thecolorfulplace/

How to format your Etsy store URL

Alternatively, another way to find your Etsy shop URL is by using the subdomain version of the web address, which is formatted as: (your shop name).Etsy.com without the brackets.

For example, if you type in thecolorfulplace.Etsy.com, Etsy will automatically take you to my shop page.

Both these links should bring shoppers directly to your Etsy shop. That being said, there are several ways to format an Etsy shop link for different purposes.

How Should You Share Your Etsy Shop URL for Marketing?

If you include your Etsy shop URL in your marketing — e.g., a poster, your thank you cards, or a social media graphic, consider using the shorter subdomain URL (e.g., thecolorfulplace.Etsy.com) or removing the “https://www.” portion from your full URL (e.g., etsy.com/shop/thecolorfulplace/).

This makes it easier for shoppers to type in without making any typos.

How Do You Share Etsy Listing Links?

To share an Etsy listing link:

  1. Go to the listing page

  2. Copy the URL in the browser address bar

  3. Delete the ? and everything that comes after

Everything that comes after the question mark is used for tracking purposes (e.g., Etsy wants to track how people find your listing) and isn’t needed if you’re looking to share the listing link.

So, if a link looks like this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1492844804/the-storytellers-essentials-gift-box?transaction_id=3659048911, you would only need to copy and paste https://www.etsy.com/listing/1492844804/the-storytellers-essentials-gift-box. (Your string of text after the ? might look slightly different than this example, but you should still remove it.)

How Do You Share an Etsy Shop Section?

To share a specific section of your Etsy shop, simply click on the section, then copy and paste the URL in the address bar. When someone presses the link, they’ll be taken directly to that section of your shop.

This is helpful if you sell one-of-a-kind items — rather than directing shoppers to an item page that might’ve just sold out (and have them see the “this item isn’t available page”), they can browse similar items in the same section.

How Do You Share Several Etsy Items?

Want to share all the listings with the word “pink” with a shopper? Or maybe you want them to see every sticker design you have, regardless of category/style/theme?

To do that, you can search for the specific term, in this case, “pink” or “sticker,” in your shop, then copy the URL of the results.

For example, I searched the term “sticker” in my store, then copied this link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheColorfulPlace?ref=seller-platform-mcnav&search_query=sticker. As you can tell, the link includes the search query for “sticker,” so anyone who uses the link will immediately see all my listings with the word “sticker.”
